In the treatment of transient, situational and chronic insomnia.

In the case of transient situational insomnia, such as in shift workers, short-term treatment (3-7 days) with Zopiclone at the recommended dose will be sufficient to restore normal sleep.

In insomnia secondary to psychiatric disorders that include difficulty falling asleep, nocturnal awakenings and early awakenings.

Insomnia caused by more persistent life stress or psychological distress may require longer treatment with zopiclone than for transient situational insomnia. However, patients should be periodically evaluated for insomnia and treatment should not be prolonged if not necessary.
