Blurry vision
change of consciousness
confusion
dizziness, fainting, or lightheadedness when suddenly getting up from a lying or sitting position
drowsiness
loss of consciousness
loss of strength or energy
muscle pain or weakness
perspiration
unusual sleepiness, dullness, tiredness, weakness, or feeling sluggish
unusual feeling of weakness
Minor side effects
Some Sobril side effects may not need medical attention. As your body gets used to the medication, these side effects may go away. Your healthcare professional can help you prevent or reduce these side effects, but check with them if any of the following side effects continue or if you are concerned:

Do not use this medication if you are allergic to Sobril or other benzodiazepines, such as alprazolam (Xanax), chlordiazepoxide (Librium), clorazepate (Tranxene), diazepam (Valium), or lorazepam (Ativan).

This medication may cause birth defects in the fetus. Do not use Sobril if you are pregnant.

Before taking Sobril, tell your doctor if you have breathing problems, glaucoma, porphyria, kidney or liver disease, or a history of depression, suicidal thoughts, or drug or alcohol addiction.

Do not drink alcohol while taking Sobril. This medication can increase the effects of alcohol.

Avoid using other medications that make you drowsy. They may increase drowsiness caused by Sobril.

Sobril may be habit-forming and should be used only by the person for whom it was prescribed. Sobril should never be shared with another person, especially someone who has a history of drug abuse or addiction. Store the medication in a safe place where others cannot reach it.
